Stained Glass Artist Janet Brown loves New Mexico and has been enjoying Stained Glass designing since the late 70's upon her return after 2 years in Venezuela. She pursued her 11hobby" along with raising a family in the mountains out of Denver Colorado. COLOR has always been the reason for the passion of creating Stained Glass. Throughout her business career, stained glass has always given back to her enjoyment and fun. Janet has now come full circle back to the beautiful state of New Mexico. From her college days at UNM, to her current White Rock Stained Glass Studio, her passion for Stained Glass has evolved and grown.

In the 80's she started firing glass in a friend’s kiln and that brought a whole new di mention to her work. She found a small kiln of her own, and the passion of firing glass exploded. Now with a large kiln in her studio, she sets herself apart from other stained-glass artists by firing large plates of glass and incorporating these into her work. She also incorporates shells, and stones, like turquoise into her Stained Glass projects. In 2010 her largest 3 door custom installation of an Ocean Reef was placed inside Page Arizona Library. This year she is proud of her "Best of Show" award at the Los Alamos County Fair 2023.

Nature and the natural world have always been the way to happiness with Janet, and this love of nature is always reflected in her work. She returns to her childhood land in Missouri to get Oak and Walnut for framing her stained-glass creations. Her first 18 years were filled with camping on this beautiful land they call Piney-Mo, and all the families (4th generation now) still enjoys camping on this property with a cave and a stream that hasn't changed in 80 years and is protected.
